What one paid plan costs for a year

The lowest-priced paid personal plan of each app at its standard yearly-billing price, sorted low to high. Where the page shows only a per-month figure, the year is that figure times 12. Trials and first-term promotions are not used here; they are listed in the trials and promotions table. Taxes not included. Plans that differ in what they include are compared on price only; this table makes no recommendation.

Yearly billing vs 12 monthly payments

For every plan whose page shows both a month-to-month price and a yearly price: twelve monthly payments, the yearly price, and the difference. Apps that show only one billing option are left out. Where a page labels a lower price as a sale price, the regular prices are used. Taxes not included.

How this page works

  • Each price is the standard US price shown on the app’s own pricing page on the date it was read, before tax.
  • “Monthly” is the price when billed month to month; “—” means the page showed no monthly option.
  • “Yearly” is written the way the page writes it: a yearly total, or a per-month figure marked “billed annually”.
  • Where a page has a monthly/yearly toggle, both settings are read.
  • Not in the tables: free tiers, team and business plans priced per seat, and add-ons.
  • Nothing on this page is an estimate.
  • The three computed tables (what one paid plan costs for a year, what yearly billing saves against 12 monthly payments and the trials and promotions on record) are worked out from the recorded prices.
  • Deldur has no financial relationship with any app listed here. Source links are plain links to the app’s own page.
Coverage, known gaps and method

Coverage and known gaps

Not included: apps with no paid personal plan (Apple Notes, Google Keep, Microsoft OneNote, Simplenote); team, business and enterprise plans priced per seat or per group (Notion Business and Enterprise, Craft Team, Goodnotes Teams and Enterprise, Notability Business, Obsidian Commercial, Milanote Team, Evernote Flexible and Enterprise, Anytype for Business); add-ons and usage multiples (Goodnotes AI Pass, Capacities AI Power-Up, Mem Extra Usage and the Mem Pro 2× to 20× tiers); one-time supporter payments and lifetime licenses (Obsidian Catalyst, RemNote Lifetime) and multi-year prepayments (Roam Research Believer, the Notesnook 5-year option); plans shown only as "from" a price (Capacities Believer); Joplin Cloud, whose page prices plans in euros; reading and highlight services that are not note-taking apps (Readwise); Tana, whose pricing page now presents it as a meeting tool ("Perfect meeting memory without taking notes") rather than a note-taking app; Reflect, whose website no longer shows a price.

Dates and sources: each section shows the date its seller’s page was last read, and its source line links to that page. A figure is recorded only as the seller’s own page shows it.

Plan shapes differ: some apps sell a single subscription (Bear, Ulysses, UpNote, Milanote, NotePlan, Workflowy), some sell tiers (Standard Notes, Goodnotes, Notability, Amplenote, Heptabase, Mem, Notesnook, RemNote), and Obsidian sells the app free and charges only for its Sync and Publish services. UpNote also sells a one-time lifetime license. Amplenote publishes its prices on a help page rather than a pricing page. Anytype’s tiers differ by remote storage and by the length of the ANY ID name they include.

Method

Each app’s own pricing page is read directly, for the United States, with every billing option the page offers. The standard price for each billing period and every qualifier printed on the page (trials, promotions, toggle labels, member counts, one-time options) are recorded with the page URL and the date. Third-party comparison sites are never used as a source. A change is logged only when the app’s own page changes. If a figure on this page is wrong, the correction goes in the change log below rather than being edited silently. The computed tables are arithmetic on the recorded rows and are recomputed whenever a row they use changes.

This dataset is compiled and maintained by Deldur; how Deldur works explains the process.

  • 2026-10-19 — Wording and dates — the page summary and the Roam Research quick answer now say $165 is the highest among each app’s lowest-priced plan (the table "What one paid plan costs for a year"), not in the whole dataset; the Goodnotes read date in the Goodnotes vs Notability quick answer corrected to October 19, 2026; the tracking strips of Craft, Notion and Heptabase now end on Oct 5 and that of Capacities on Oct 8, their read dates; the coverage note no longer gives October 5, 2026 as the read date of Evernote, Roam Research and Anytype. No figure changed. Found by the site’s own check.
  • 2026-10-18 — Added NotePlan ($12 a month or $99 a year), Notesnook (Essential $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year, Pro $6.99 or $69.99, Believer $8.99 or $89.99, all shown including tax), RemNote (Pro $10 a month or $96 a year, Pro with AI $20 or $216) and Workflowy (Pro $8.99 a month, or $6.99 a month billed annually), each read from its own pricing page on October 18, 2026. Now 38 paid personal plans from 21 apps. Computed tables: one plan a year adds Notesnook Essential $19.99 (now third-lowest), Workflowy Pro $83.88 (12 × $6.99), RemNote Pro $96.00 and NotePlan $99.00; yearly vs monthly adds 7 rows (now 31); trials and promotions adds 4 rows. • 2026-10-08 — Capacities — offer wording changed: the banner now reads "Back to School Season — 40% off annual Pro for students" (it read "Back to School Season — 40% off Capacities for students"); the source line and the trials and promotions table now quote it and name annual Pro, and that table no longer names a single read date. Every price unchanged. Source: capacities.io/pricing.
  • 2026-10-08 — Milanote — presentation: the page heads its individual plan "Pay per person"; the row and the three computed tables called it "Professional", a name the page does not use. No figure changed. Source: milanote.com/plans.
  • 2026-10-08 — UpNote re-read: "$1.99/month or $39.99 Lifetime" as recorded. No figure changed.
  • 2026-10-08 — Standard Notes — qualifier added: the plans page states "We offer students a 30% discount." and "We offer 100% refunds on any plan within 14 days (Productivity Plan) or 90 days (Professional Plan) of your purchase date." Both sentences are now quoted on the source line. No figure changed. Source: standardnotes.com/plans.
  • 2026-10-05 — Every app re-read before publication; all figures for the 17 remaining apps unchanged. Two apps removed: Reflect, whose website no longer shows a price (it was listed at $10 per month billed annually); and Tana, whose pricing page now presents it as a meeting tool ("Perfect meeting memory without taking notes") and no longer lists the Max plan (Tana Pro was listed at $35 monthly and $30 per month billed yearly). Dataset now 31 plans from 17 apps; the three computed tables were recomputed.
  • 2026-09-29 — Anytype (Plus, Pro, Ultra) added from a reading of both billing toggles: Plus $5 monthly, $4 per month billed yearly; Pro $10 and $8; Ultra $20 and $16. It was left out earlier the same day because its figures did not appear to change between the toggles. Dataset now 34 plans from 19 apps; the three computed tables were extended.
  • 2026-09-29 — Evernote (Starter, Advanced) and Roam Research (Pro) added from readings of every billing option: Evernote Starter $14.99 monthly, $99.00 yearly; Advanced $24.99 monthly, $249.99 yearly; Roam Research Pro $15 monthly, $165 yearly. Agenda, Logseq, Supernotes and Anytype were checked and left out (see Coverage). Dataset now 31 plans from 18 apps; the three computed tables were extended.
