This Privacy Policy explains how Deldur (“the Site,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit deldur.com. By using this site, you agree to the practices described below.

Information we collect

Contact form. If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit so the message can be reviewed and acted on (for example, re-checking a figure against its source). We do not reply to these messages by email. The outcome of a reported figure is listed on the Corrections page by date, page and figure only; your name, email address and message text are never published. Messages are delivered to the site’s inbox and are not added to any mailing list.

Email subscriptions. If you subscribe by email, we collect your email address so we can send you new posts. Subscriptions are handled by WordPress.com. Newsletter emails are sent from a no-reply address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Comments. Comments are closed on this site, so no comment data is collected.

Cookies. This site is hosted on WordPress.com, which may use standard analytics and functionality cookies.

Saved in your browser. This site keeps a few small notes in your own browser’s storage (not cookies): the date of your last visit to each dataset page, so the next visit can show what changed since then; whether you closed the card that offers to add Deldur to your home screen, when it may show again, and how many pages you have opened; and a list of the site’s datasets, sellers and pages that the menu search reuses for up to 6 hours. For the current tab only, it also remembers the “since your last visit” note and a display setting. These notes stay on your device, are never sent to Deldur, and can be removed at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Analytics. Like most websites, we use basic analytics tools (provided through WordPress.com and Jetpack) to understand how visitors use the site — pages visited, general location, device type, and referral source. This data is aggregated and not used to personally identify individual visitors.

Referral and affiliate links

This site takes part in affiliate programs. A page that contains an affiliate link says so at the top, and the link is marked “Affiliate link”. The programs in use are listed on the Affiliate Disclosure page. There are no display ads and no sponsored posts on this site.

When you click an affiliate link, you go to the seller’s own site, which may place a cookie to record that you arrived from Deldur. Deldur does not pass any information about you to the seller through these links.

When you follow an external link, the site on the other end may collect information from you and place or recognize cookies on your browser. We do not control those third-party cookies — please refer to that site’s own privacy policy.

How we use information

We use the information collected to operate and improve the site, send subscribed posts by email, handle messages sent through the contact form, understand general visitor trends, and detect or prevent spam and abuse. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Your rights and choices

You can decline cookies through your browser settings. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email. If you’d like an email address or any other personal data you’ve submitted removed, get in touch and we will address the request.
